Abbie on the beach, stalking birds. She held this point for over 30 seconds. There was no training; it’s just in the breed. We rescued Abbie when she was 9 months old from a family who didn’t understand that pointers are bred for birding, not as lap dogs. They need plenty of exercise and opportunity to work with birds. She has never caught one but has encountered several birds that have not fled. She’ll stop, look at them, and then find another individual or group that will give her a run.
